Conserve capital in uncertain economic times

Taking the guesswork out of managing your storage needs.

The more data intensive your business becomes, the more critical storage becomes to the success of your business. Yet managing storage capacity can be a complex, time-consuming, and costly chore - as you face the unenviable task of trying to predict the needs of your business months, even years, in advance. All the while, seasonal spikes, unexpected growth, new programs, or the lack of highly skilled IT professionals can challenge even the most careful planning. As a result, you often end up purchasing too much or too little storage capacity.

HP understands the challenges you face - and that's why we've developed the Pay per use for HP StorageWorks XP/EVA Solution. The Pay per use program balances the risks and costs associated with investments in storage and avoids locking capital into storage infrastructure, while allowing for growth and changes in your needs by providing flexible capacity, software, and technology upgrades.

Flexible storage capacity that's pay as you go.

Available on HP StorageWorks XP 128 and 1024 and HP StorageWorks EVA 5000 and 3000 disk arrays, the Pay per use for HP StorageWorks XP/EVA Solution lets you pay a fixed monthly fee plus a variable fee that is based on the actual usage of your HP StorageWorks XP/EVA disk storage system. It works like this:

  • You select the storage configuration, capacity, software, and services that are appropriate for your business.
  • HP installs the storage device and a unique automated metering technology at your site.
  • The metering technology measures capacity usage and transmits it to HP.
  • Each month you are charged for the average capacity used at the quoted rate in addition to a minimum percentage of the installed capacity.
  • At the end of the contract, you may extend the lease, purchase the equipment, or simply return the equipment to HP.
  • As your storage needs expand, you may add extra capacity and capability to the existing system.

The HP Pay per use for HP StorageWorks XP/EVA Solution is the utility pricing for storage component of HP's On Demand program. HP also offers a full set of lifecycle storage services to complement this solution, including assessment, planning, and design; implementation, integration, and startup services; data migration; and other ongoing maintenance and support services, as well as business continuity services and managed services.

HP leadership works to your benefit.

Pay per use for HP StorageWorks XP/EVA extends the leadership position that HP achieved with our Utility Pricing program. With Pay per use and Utility Pricing, you can gain the benefits of this new business model, whether you purchase HP servers, storage systems, or both. The HP Pay per use Solution is designed to scale right along with a company's IT environment, helping you to:

  • Align costs with usage
  • Eliminate large up-front storage investments
  • Improve service levels by providing as-you-need-it access to reserve capacity
  • Ensure less frequent procurement and simplified storage capacity planning
